About the role
Cinematic Artist – World of Tanks: HEAT
About the role
Wargaming is looking for a Cinematic Artist to join the team working on World of Tanks: HEAT.
This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role focused on producing real-time cinematics, trailers and in-game cutscenes. You will contribute across different stages of production, helping transform early ideas and rough layouts into polished cinematic sequences inside a real-time game engine.
The position is suited to an artist with strong visual fundamentals, an interest in storytelling and a willingness to work across areas such as camera animation, scene composition, lighting, environment dressing and basic animation.
You are not expected to be an expert in every cinematic discipline. Versatility, artistic potential, curiosity and the ability to learn are more important than deep specialisation in one area.
What you’ll be doing
Create cinematic layouts and establish shots inside the game engine.
Help storyboard and visualise cinematic sequences.
Set up cameras, framing, composition and camera movement.
Produce basic character and object animations when required.
Adapt existing animation assets for cinematic scenes.
Assemble and dress environments for individual shots.
Set up and adjust lighting to support the atmosphere and storytelling of each sequence.
Create and integrate simple real-time visual effects.
Support shot assembly, sequencing and final presentation.
Develop scenes from early blockouts through to polished in-engine results.
Review and improve shots based on artistic and creative feedback.
Troubleshoot visual and technical issues within cinematic scenes.
Collaborate with the wider cinematic and art-production teams.
The exact responsibilities may vary depending on the needs of each cinematic sequence.
What we’re looking for
A basic understanding of 3D-production pipelines and real-time workflows.
An interest in cinematography, visual storytelling and animation.
An understanding of camera composition, framing and shot construction.
Basic animation skills and an understanding of timing and movement.
The ability to work with 3D environments and assemble complete scenes.
Familiarity with real-time engines and cinematic-production tools.
A willingness to contribute across multiple artistic disciplines.
The ability to receive feedback and iterate on your work.
Strong curiosity, initiative and a willingness to develop new skills.
Good collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Skills that would be an advantage
Experience using Unreal Engine.
Familiarity with Unreal Engine Sequencer.
Basic knowledge of character animation.
Experience with environment art or level dressing.
A basic understanding of real-time visual effects.
Experience creating personal cinematics, short films, game scenes or similar projects.
An interest in filmmaking, animation, video games and visual storytelling.
Who this role may suit
This position may be a good fit for a versatile 3D artist, junior cinematic artist, game artist or animation generalist who wants to develop experience across multiple stages of real-time cinematic production.
Applicants do not need to be expert animators, VFX artists, environment artists or cinematographers. A broad creative skill set, a strong portfolio and the ability to learn across different areas are likely to be valuable.
Work arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Relocation and immigration support may be available for successful candidates.
