About the Role
This AML Agent position is based in Limassol, Cyprus on a hybrid in-office arrangement. The role is ideal for analytical, detail-oriented professionals interested in using AI, automation, and technology to improve financial crime investigative work.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze customer transactions and account activity to identify suspicious behavior
Investigate alerts generated by transaction monitoring and fraud detection systems
Assess customer activity against their profile, expected behavior, occupation, geographic exposure, and transaction history
Conduct Source of Funds (SOF) and Source of Wealth (SOW) reviews
Identify indicators of money laundering, fraud, mule activity, structuring, and other financial crime risks
Perform holistic customer reviews using KYC/CDD information and transaction history
Decide whether cases can be closed, require further investigation, or need escalation using a risk-based approach
Document investigations, findings, and decisions clearly and accurately
Escalate suspicious or high-risk activity to relevant AML, Fraud, Compliance, and Financial Crime teams
Support preparation of investigation summaries and evidence for escalated cases
Identify emerging fraud and AML patterns and share findings with the wider team
Use approved AI, automation, and analytical tools to support case analysis and investigation workflows
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve team efficiency
Requirements
Strong analytical and investigative skills with ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies
Ability to assess information objectively and make well-reasoned decisions
High attention to detail and strong case documentation standards
Good written and verbal communication skills
Comfort learning new tools including transaction monitoring systems, case management platforms, and Excel
Good AI and digital literacy with interest in using technology to improve investigative work
Proactive and curious mindset with willingness to challenge processes and suggest improvements
