JetBrains seeks an experienced Compliance Manager to co-lead the company's global export controls and sanctions program. This senior position involves driving compliance with EU and U.S. export control regulations while managing emerging risks related to AI-related controls. You will enable secure global sales operations while protecting the organisation from regulatory and reputational risk.
Key Responsibilities
Co-lead the group's export controls and sanctions program globally
Monitor and interpret evolving EU and U.S. export controls, sanctions, and enforcement trends
Own classification, licensing, and technology-transfer processes
Advise on higher-risk transactions, strategic deals, M&A initiatives, market entry strategies, and technology partner onboarding
Build and refine workflows, documentation, and automation systems for trade compliance
Serve as escalation point for restricted countries, entities, and high-risk transaction reviews
Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Sales, Product, Procurement, Finance, and Security teams
Lead investigations and concern reviews related to sanctions and export controls
Requirements
8+ years of hands-on EU and U.S. trade compliance experience in tech or global software environments
Strong command of EU export control regulations (EUDU), EAR (including de minimis and FDPR), and AI-related controls
Ability to interpret technical software and AI features for export classification purposes
Pragmatic, business-oriented judgment with excellent communication skills
Fluent English
