Head of JS/TS Ecosystem

About the Role

As Head of JS/TS Ecosystem at JetBrains, you will own the mid- and long-term strategy for the company's JavaScript and TypeScript products. This leadership position focuses on aligning product direction, go-to-market efforts, and external partnerships with the rapidly evolving web development ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for JetBrains products targeting web developers, identifying and launching new product directions for unaddressed market niches

• Define priorities and work plans for product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and partnerships teams

• Track trends and changes in the web ecosystem including frameworks, tooling, releases, and workflows

• Build and maintain relationships with key figures in the web development community, including companies, open-source projects, and community leaders

• Work with engineering and QA leadership to set priorities and plan development work

• Represent JetBrains at industry events and community meetings

• Coordinate across other product ecosystems when technical areas overlap

Requirements

• Deep understanding of web developer workflows, JavaScript/TypeScript, major frameworks (especially React), Node.js, browser tooling, package managers, build tools, and testing frameworks

• Experience setting product direction based on market needs in a Product Manager or Head of Product role

• Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives across product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and business development

• Strong external-facing skills including partnerships, community engagement, and executive communication

• Ability to make data-driven decisions using community feedback, product usage metrics, and business results
