About the role
payabl. is looking for a Business Growth Manager to join its Business Growth team in Limassol, Cyprus.
In this role, you will help expand the company’s presence across new and existing markets by building a strong sales pipeline, developing commercial relationships and converting qualified opportunities into active clients.
You will manage the full commercial journey, from prospecting and initial outreach through pricing, compliance checks, onboarding and activation. The role requires close collaboration with Compliance, Legal, Banking Operations and CRM teams to ensure new business is onboarded efficiently within a regulated financial-services environment.
The position reports to the Head of Banking in Cyprus.
What you’ll be doing
Develop and execute strategies for acquiring new business clients.
Build and manage a portfolio of merchants, partners and introducers.
Develop opportunities across a range of business sectors and risk profiles.
Generate qualified leads through CRM platforms, professional networks and existing client relationships.
Use tools such as HubSpot, Apollo and LinkedIn to support business-development activity.
Manage the complete B2B sales cycle from initial outreach through commercial agreement and onboarding.
Conduct introductory and discovery calls with prospective clients.
Prepare and discuss pricing and commercial proposals.
Coordinate with compliance teams throughout customer due diligence and onboarding.
Stay involved after a deal is agreed to help ensure the client is activated successfully.
Identify and resolve commercial or operational blockers that could delay onboarding.
Maintain accurate sales-pipeline information and forecasts.
Produce structured pipeline and commercial reporting.
Work with Banking Operations, Compliance, Legal and CRM teams on client onboarding.
Build long-term relationships with clients and introducers.
Identify opportunities to grow existing commercial relationships.
Represent payabl. at relevant industry events in Cyprus and across Europe.
Build relationships with prospective clients, partners and other stakeholders at industry events.
What we’re looking for
At least four years of professional experience in business development, sales or commercial growth.
Experience within fintech, payments, electronic money, business banking or another relevant financial-services environment.
A proven record of closing complex B2B commercial deals.
Experience managing revenue-generating client portfolios.
The ability to manage the complete sales lifecycle independently.
Strong pipeline-management and forecasting skills.
A commercial mindset focused on sustainable revenue and long-term client value.
Good understanding of business banking and payment products.
Knowledge of domestic and international payment rails.
Familiarity with SEPA and SEPA Instant.
Understanding of payment systems such as FPS, BACS and CHAPS.
Familiarity with foreign exchange products.
Knowledge of card-issuing products and services.
Understanding of regulated client onboarding and customer due diligence.
Confidence dealing with commercial and regulatory requirements during onboarding.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
The ability to engage senior stakeholders, including executives and finance leaders.
Strong stakeholder-management skills across commercial, operational and compliance teams.
Practical experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
Experience maintaining structured sales pipelines.
Familiarity with prospecting platforms such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo.
A high level of autonomy, accountability and commercial ownership.
Skills that would be an advantage
Experience working with higher-risk merchant categories.
Previous exposure to industries such as software, gaming, crypto, forex or technology.
Experience selling business accounts or banking products.
Knowledge of European financial-services regulation.
Experience working with introducer or referral networks.
Familiarity with central-bank requirements affecting onboarding.
Experience representing fintech or payments companies at industry events.
Knowledge of acquiring, payment processing or merchant services.
Experience expanding into new geographic markets.
Work arrangement
This position is based in Limassol, Cyprus.
The role reports to the Head of Banking in Cyprus.
