Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Officer to join a fast-growing Data Governance team. This role is central to implementing data management standards and best practices across the organization, acting as a key liaison between IT stakeholders and business data consumers.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage data-related matters across the organization
Collaborate with data champions and working groups to implement standardized processes and guidelines
Drive data accuracy, manage escalations, and resolve data quality issues
Create and maintain business metadata definitions, domain values, and business rules
Support data catalogue implementation, development, and ongoing enrichment
Guide business users, projects, and IT teams on data meaning and proper use
Execute data issue remediation processes and define data standards with the Data Quality team
Embed data ownership culture and inspire compliance with governance frameworks
Work with technical and operational teams to document governance requirements
Required Qualifications
BSc/MSc in Information Technology or related field
Minimum 2 years' experience in data stewardship or similar role
Proven stakeholder management and collaboration skills
Strong knowledge of data governance practices and data quality processes
Experience executing remediation activities and identifying data improvements
Hands-on experience creating or using data catalogues
Strong analytical skills and business maturity
Understanding of client journeys in service and product-oriented organizations
