QA Engineer (Ultimate team)

QA Engineer for IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate

JetBrains is seeking an independent QA Engineer to join the Ultimate team, ensuring reliability and efficiency of enterprise development tools. You will own the testing process for IntelliJ IDEA's support for JVM frameworks including Spring, Jakarta EE, and Hibernate, balancing hands-on exploratory testing with automated test suite development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory testing of new and existing features to identify edge cases and system flaws

• Execute regression tests to maintain platform stability before releases

• Write, maintain, and scale automated test suites

• Reproduce user-reported issues and provide technical diagnostics

• Collaborate with developers to share product knowledge and diagnose bugs

• Partner with product managers to prioritize issues based on business impact

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience testing commercial software applications

• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin sufficient to write test applications and read source code

• Practical familiarity with build tools (Maven, Gradle, Bazel), databases, and Docker

• Experience testing across different operating systems with basic system administration knowledge

• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)

• Independence, self-discipline, and ability to learn new technologies autonomously
