Senior Legal Counsel (Product and Business Development)

About the Role

JetBrains seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Product and Business Development legal team. This role advises on the entire lifecycle of software products, services, and AI features, from concept through retirement. The position focuses on enabling innovation through pragmatic legal frameworks rather than restricting business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on product, service, plugin, and AI feature lifecycles including regulatory compliance and consumer protection

• Draft, negotiate, and advise on strategic technology, AI partnership, and collaboration agreements

• Support JetBrains Marketplace initiatives and third-party platform relationships

• Guide legal aspects of educational, academic, and research initiatives

• Design templates, playbooks, and self-service resources to improve legal operations

• Equip sales and procurement teams with product expertise for customer and vendor negotiations

• Share knowledge across legal team and business stakeholders on best practices

Required Qualifications

• Law degree (LLB, LLM, or equivalent)

• Extensive background advising multinational corporations on technology and commercial law

• Proven track record drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial and technology agreements

• Deep understanding of software products, digital services, and technology business models

• Fluency in English with ability to negotiate and draft complex legal documents

• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and stakeholder relationships simultaneously
