Lead Software Engineer (Java) - SSO

Revolut is looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to help build secure, reliable and scalable authentication services across its platform.

The role focuses on Java-based microservices, system architecture and backend services supporting areas such as authentication, risk management, fraud detection and payment processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable microservices.

• Improve existing backend systems and architecture.

• Build secure authentication services for users and internal systems.

• Contribute to greenfield projects and ongoing platform improvements.

• Write clean, maintainable code using TDD, DDD and continuous delivery practices.

Key Requirements

• 6+ years of backend development experience.

• Strong commercial experience with Java.

• Experience building and operating microservices.

• Understanding of scalable and reliable backend architecture.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Fluency in English.

• A degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or a related field.

Experience with Kotlin, Scala, financial products, startups or product-focused teams is considered an advantage.

Technology Stack

Java 17/21, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, Spock, jOOQ and Flyway.
