Senior Product Builder

About the Role

This is a newly created senior builder position for experienced engineers who operate autonomously and want to maintain that ownership within a scaled organization. You will take features from concept to production independently, using AI as a genuine productivity multiplier. Unlike backfill roles, this position is designed for someone who already owns end-to-end feature delivery and wants to continue that approach within Wrike's established platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Transform ambiguous product ideas into concrete technical plans through strategic stakeholder collaboration

• Design, build, and ship end-to-end features across the full stack: Java/Spring backend, REST APIs, data layer, testing, infrastructure, and frontend using TypeScript and React 19

• Navigate an established codebase with judgment, reusing solid components and rebuilding where necessary while refusing to defer technical debt

• Anticipate second-order effects and make autonomous technical and product tradeoff decisions

• Use AI tools (Cursor, Claude, internal portals) daily as part of your workflow, including writing automation and custom tooling

• Challenge both AI suggestions and product requirements when they don't align with technical reality

Requirements

• Strong full-stack experience with deep expertise in Java 21, Spring, REST APIs, SQL, TypeScript, and React 19

• Proven track record of owning features or systems end-to-end, not just executing specifications

• Experience improving non-trivial existing codebases in production environments

• Advanced, hands-on daily use of AI coding tools beyond the learning phase

• Ability to make sound decisions under ambiguity and own outcomes

• Background as technical founder, early-stage startup engineer, small company CTO, or senior engineer with active open-source work
