This Software Engineering Manager position at Wrike involves leading a cross-functional engineering team to deliver high-impact product and platform initiatives. The role combines strong technical expertise with people leadership and product thinking to drive measurable business outcomes. You will own projects end-to-end, from discovery and planning through execution, rollout, and continuous improvement, while fostering team growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a cross-functional team of software engineers and partner closely with Product Managers and Designers as an integrated "triad"
Own end-to-end project execution: discovery, solutioning, planning, execution, launch, and post-release maintenance
Define, communicate, and track team goals and OKRs aligned with product and company strategy
Make prioritization and trade-off decisions between scope, quality, and speed
Plan and execute large, complex cross-functional projects and customer-impacting changes
Improve team processes by evolving tools, collaboration patterns, and leveraging AI/automation
Measure impact using customer value, adoption, reliability, and quality metrics
Provide direct feedback, handle difficult conversations with clarity and empathy, and coach team members on career development
Requirements
5+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering, technical leadership, or management
3+ years of management experience leading cross-functional teams
Proven track record delivering measurable business and customer impact
Solid engineering background with ability to review designs and challenge technical decisions
Experience planning and executing complex customer-facing projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Proficiency with agile development practices and iterative delivery
Demonstrated success in hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineers
