Senior Cloud Engineer

XM seeks an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the organization's cloud transformation journey. This role extends beyond standard infrastructure management to drive the group toward a cloud-native architecture, establish governance frameworks, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and orchestrate cloud migration projects, evaluating workloads for minimal disruption

• Apply and promote the Well Architected Framework across all cloud initiatives

• Conduct platform re-architecture and re-factoring of existing cloud infrastructure

• Develop and implement cloud deployment standards, best practices, and risk assessments

• Coordinate with IT departments and teams on cloud infrastructure decisions

• Assess cloud deployments for compliance with organizational standards

• Create and maintain risk registers for cloud resources with stakeholder communication

• Design and deploy Proof-of-Concepts and solutions for internal customers

• Manage cloud cost optimization through analysis and remediation activities

• Provide mentoring and training on cloud technologies and services

• Drive requests for new technologies and services within the organization

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

• 5+ years cloud services experience with minimum 3 years on AWS

• Advanced knowledge in solution design and deployment

• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)

• Strong Linux, networking, and Bash scripting skills

• Git version control experience

• Understanding of FinOPS and SRE practices

• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and organizational skills

Advantageous: Windows OS experience, RDBMS knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL), scripting in Python or Go.
