AI-Native Java Developer

Role Overview

EY is seeking an AI-Native Java Developer to join its Transformation Realized™ Consulting practice within the CESA cluster. This role combines traditional software engineering excellence with cutting-edge AI-assisted development practices, focusing on building enterprise-grade cloud-native applications and leading transformation initiatives for international clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade cloud-native applications using Java and Spring Boot, building scalable microservices and APIs following modern architecture principles.

• AI-Native Engineering: Utilize GitHub Copilot and AI coding assistants to improve productivity. Review, validate, and refine AI-generated code to ensure production readiness, and leverage AI for testing, debugging, and documentation.

• Architecture & Integration: Design RESTful APIs, event-driven integrations, and distributed system components. Work with messaging platforms such as Kafka and collaborate with architects on solution design.

• Quality Engineering: Develop automated tests, perform code reviews focusing on security and performance, and implement observability and monitoring capabilities.

• Cloud & DevOps: Build CI/CD pipelines and work within Azure or other public cloud environments using containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

• 3-6 years of relevant software development experience

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, and cloud-native microservices

• Hands-on experience with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot

• Knowledge of SQL, clean code practices, and unit testing

• Excellent English communication skills and agile methodology experience
