Junior Java Spring Boot Developer

About the Role

EY is seeking a Junior Java Spring Boot Developer to join the Transformation Realized™ Consulting practice in Nicosia. You will develop and maintain cloud-native Java-based microservices as part of a globally connected team delivering transformation consulting services across industries in Cyprus and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cloud-native Java-based microservices

• Participate in technical solution design and solution architecture, ensuring security, high-availability, scalability, resiliency, and recoverability

• Write and execute unit tests

• Support software deployments and releases

• Perform root-cause analysis to identify causes of defects and bugs

• Collaborate within agile teams and across project stakeholders

• Use observability tools to monitor application performance and make improvements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology/Systems or related field

• 2–3 years of related work experience

• Experience with Service Oriented environments and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring, Spring MVC)

• Source code management experience

• Knowledge of application security including authentication, authorization, and encryption

• Strong SQL and DBMS knowledge

• Understanding of clean code and unit testing practices

• Experience with agile methodologies

• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written

• Self-driven, flexible, and able to work autonomously

Desirable Skills

Cloud-native microservices implementation, Docker and Kubernetes, continuous integration and automated deployment, AWS or Azure experience, event-driven architectures using Kafka, and Spring Cloud Config Server knowledge.
