Mid or Senior PHP Developer

Role Overview

Fayara, a fast-growing digital company in the social interaction and relationship-tech space, is seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join their engineering team in Limassol. This is a full-time permanent hybrid position (3 days office, 2 days remote) working on scalable backend systems that power millions of user interactions across dating and social discovery platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend features using PHP, preferably PHP 8+

• Build scalable APIs and backend services for mobile and web clients

• Collaborate with product, UX, and growth teams to deliver new features including matchmaking, messaging, and user-engagement functionality

• Optimize application performance, database queries, and caching layers

• Integrate third-party APIs and internal microservices

• Write clean, secure, and testable code following modern PHP standards (PSR, OOP, MVC)

• Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot production issues

• Implement analytics, user-behavior tracking, and A/B testing features with data teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional PHP development experience

• Strong knowledge of Laravel, Symfony, or similar modern PHP frameworks

• Proficiency with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or relational databases

• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations

• Familiarity with caching systems (Redis, Memcached)

• Understanding of security, authentication, and user-data protection

• Solid Git workflows and CI/CD pipeline experience

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, experiment-driven startup environments
