Staff Software Developer (IAM)

About the Role

JetBrains is seeking an experienced Staff Software Developer to join the identity management and access team within the JetBrains Platform (JCP). This team builds foundational services handling authentication, authorization, organization management, user memberships, groups, and workspaces—critical infrastructure supporting multiple JetBrains products including YouTrack, IDE Services, License Vault, and Qodana.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the entire software development lifecycle including codebase, architecture, and production operations

• Maintain and evolve identity management services written primarily in Kotlin with some Go components

• Design and implement new features across identity, organization, membership, group, and workspace domains

• Review and integrate pull requests from other platform teams

• Manage integrations with other JCP platform components and external applications

Requirements

• 7+ years of JVM development experience, preferably with Kotlin

• Strong expertise in JVM and PostgreSQL performance optimization

• Proven experience building and operating SaaS production services in distributed, multi-tenant environments

• Proficiency with modern DevOps tools: Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana

• Track record of taking ownership of and improving existing production services

Preferred Experience

• Identity management protocols: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML 2.0, SCIM 2.0

• Domain model design for organizational or identity systems

• Cybersecurity expertise including risk assessment and secure SDLC practices

• Hands-on Go development experience
