About the Role
This is a leadership position for an experienced Python developer to design and develop backend services for data storage and processing infrastructure. The role combines hands-on technical development with team leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop backend services and infrastructure for managing data storage and processing
Build and mentor a team of Python developers, including hiring and task allocation
Ensure technical quality through code reviews, development standards, testing, and documentation
Design and integrate APIs (REST/gRPC) and internal/external systems within the platform
Develop custom tools for data flow management and infrastructure automation
Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and service observability (metrics, logs, alerting)
Participate in technical planning, estimation, and cross-functional collaboration
Key Requirements
5+ years of commercial Python development experience with 1–2+ years in a lead or tech lead role
Experience designing and developing high-load distributed services
Deep SQL knowledge and database expertise (PostgreSQL, MySQL) including optimization and internals
Strong UNIX and command-line proficiency
Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience (image building, manifests, Helm, deployment)
Experience establishing testing practices and code review culture
Observability knowledge (Prometheus, Grafana, metrics, logs, tracing)
CI/CD experience (GitLab CI/CD), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
Message queue and data streaming experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Secrets management experience (Vault, Sealed Secrets)
