About the Role
Join JetBrains as an Entrepreneur in Residence and Product Lead for ThinkRail, an innovative open-source project developing a declarative programming language for AI-spec-driven development. This is a foundational role closer to that of a founder than a traditional product manager, offering real ownership over product strategy and direction.
Key Responsibilities
Own the product strategy, defining direction and validating key hypotheses for what to build
Conduct continuous discovery by talking directly to developers and customers to understand real workflows, pain points, and opportunities
Define the initial scope by identifying the ideal customer profile, core use cases, and priorities for zero-to-one development
Shape go-to-market strategy including positioning, messaging, launch plans, and market entry approach
Track the ecosystem including competitors, adjacent tools, AI developments, and market trends
Work closely with engineering to keep a small team focused, aligned, and moving quickly in a highly ambiguous environment
Required Experience
8+ years of product management with end-to-end ownership of strategy, discovery, and delivery
Proven startup experience, ideally in a small team, with a strong track record of building and shipping zero-to-one products
Direct experience with developer tools or AI products
High autonomy, speed, and comfort making decisions with limited information
Strong technical fluency and ability to work closely with engineers; coding experience is a plus
Founder, co-founder, or C-level experience is a strong advantage
GTM, marketing, launches, developer advocacy, or public speaking experience is also valued
