About the role
Wargaming is looking for a Game Data Analyst to join the product analytics team supporting the World of Warships franchise.
You will work with data from World of Warships, World of Warships: Legends and World of Warships Blitz, helping development and product teams better understand gameplay performance, game balance and player behaviour.
The role involves analysing, visualising and monitoring game data, creating business intelligence reports and helping teams define the right metrics for new features. Your work will support decisions across areas such as battle performance, gameplay systems, the in-game economy and financial monitoring.
You will collaborate closely with gameplay development teams and report to the Lead BI Data Analyst.
What you’ll be doing
Work with gameplay, product and development stakeholders to understand their analytical and business requirements.
Translate complex business questions into useful dashboards, datasets and research reports.
Analyse gameplay performance, game balance and player behaviour across multiple World of Warships titles.
Identify opportunities where better data or reporting could improve product decisions.
Determine the most appropriate format for analytical outputs, including dashboards and ad hoc reports.
Define key performance indicators and measurement frameworks for new game features.
Help teams establish tracking strategies before new functionality is released.
Produce reports and presentations for product teams and senior stakeholders.
Create and prepare datasets using internal reporting and data-management tools.
Support cross-functional teams in investigating gameplay and business challenges.
Monitor important product, gameplay, economy and financial metrics.
Explain analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Help improve data processes used throughout game development and production.
What we’re looking for
At least three years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, product analytics or a similar position.
Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries.
Strong data-visualisation and dashboard-development skills.
Experience using business intelligence platforms such as Tableau.
A solid understanding of mathematics, probability and statistics.
Practical Python experience for data processing and analysis.
Familiarity with common Python data-analysis libraries.
Experience working with data warehouses.
A general understanding of data-warehouse design, structure and operations.
The ability to identify useful metrics and convert data into actionable recommendations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
An interest in video games and a broad understanding of different game genres.
Written and spoken English at B2 level or above.
The ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different teams and locations.
Skills that would be an advantage
Two or more years of experience working within game development.
An understanding of game-production processes and development-team requirements.
Experience analysing gameplay, balancing systems or in-game economies.
Familiarity with World of Warships or other Wargaming titles.
An understanding of analytics across PC, mobile and console games.
Experience working with player-behaviour or live-service game data.
Knowledge of product experimentation and feature-performance measurement.
Experience presenting analytical findings to senior stakeholders.
Work arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Employees are expected to work from the office three days per week.
Relocation and immigration assistance are not available for this position. Applicants should therefore already have, or be able to independently obtain, the right to work in Cyprus.
